Facility Utilization Studies

Facility management is one of the most time consuming and important exercises on any military installation. Whether for facility maintenance, future planning, real property or manning, it is critical to obtain an understanding of the real property assets, condition and allocation. Facility Utilization Studies (FUSs) involve a physical survey and recording of the real property inventory. The end product is a floor plan and associated tabular data displaying unit occupancy GSF, NSF, gross to net ratio, category code and anecdotal information about every room of every building on the installation.

Typically, a FUS will precede a larger effort such as a Base General Plan and usually includes the entire installation.
