 Flightline Area Development Plan

Rexroad APG is currently creating an Area Development Plan (ADP) to serve as a guide for Peterson AFB to develop a more efficient layout of the space occupied by the 21st Space Wing (SW), Tenants, 302nd Airlift Wing (AW) to include the flightline and associated facilities based on known and projected requirements. The ADP will also include an Aircraft Layout Plan to illustrate parking patterns, for aircraft, restricted areas, vehicle movement areas, aircraft movement areas, taxiways, aprons and runways.

The 302nd AW of the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) is the largest tenant unit on base and one of several flying units. They are assigned 15 (fifteen) C-130 H3 “Hercules” aircraft and are tasked to maintain operational capability for worldwide deployments in support of national interests, providing tactical airlift of personnel and equipment as necessary. The 302nd AW also provides Modular Airborne Firefighting System (MAFFS) support to the US Forest Service, aeromedical evacuations and humanitarian flights.

The size of this tenant unit has significant impact upon the daily operations of Peterson AFB and this study will determine the best alternatives to improve mission effectiveness through a detailed analysis of existing and projected requirements, as well as potential consolidations, relocations, renovation, new construction and/or demolition.

Rexroad APG will produce several conceptual plans and a final plan graphic which shall describe existing and recommended siting options of the 302nd AW campus and flightline area that will improve space utilization, best meet current and future requirements, and create the most effective layout in support of daily operations. The plan will be incorporated directly into the Peterson General Plan and Electronic General Plan (EGP) website.
