General Plan - New Orleans Joint Reserve Base

Rexroad APG updated the Base General Plan for the 926th Fighter Wing (FW) stationed at NAS JRB New Orleans, LA to be the single, authoritative reference tool for all AFRC related future development on this military installation. Rexroad APG began with an evaluation and update to invalid portions of the existing Master Plan providing information in the form of text, graphics, and photographs with regard to factors that affect NO LA ARS’s physical development. Next, an evaluation and documentation of existing conditions of facilities, infrastructure and the environment took place. Authorizations were calculated and documented with recommendations for the proposed development direction of the AFRC facilities. This plan also integrates and supports the plans of other Host and tenant organizations including the Navy Reserves and the LA Air National Guard.

The plan is an informational and assessment booklet for commanders and other key officials to facilitate decision‑making on all land use, developmental, and construction activities on the Installation. A summary of the entire Installation’s existing capabilities and capacity to accommodate future growth was provided as part of the plan. The deliverable also includes a review of the Installation’s stewardship of natural and cultural resources and compliance with environmental laws, and encourages the use of sustainable development practices. These principles include: enhancement of relationships between natural and built environments, establishment of natural context as the framework for the built environment, and incorporation of human development into the natural context at all scales.

Rexroad APG delivered this General Plan in hard copy and electronically. The standard binder included a CD-ROM with the same plan format and content as HTML. The CD-ROM could be distributed at will or installed to run on a networked server. Spatial data deliverables were sent to both the installation and the GeoBase office for HQ Air Force Reserve Command (HQ AFRC) for inclusion into an Internet Map Service (IMS) displaying the General Plan.
