Rexroad APG Supports Fort Bragg with UAS Beddown

The Extended Range Mulit-Purpose (ERMP) Warrior Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) addresses the need for a long-endurance armed unmanned aerial system that offers greater range, altitude and payload flexibility.  The Sky Warrior will provide all-weather intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissaince (ISTAR), with significant payload capability to meet the Army's mission requirements.

Fort Bragg will be receiving a new battalion of these aircraft and Rexroad APG is developing a plan to identify the optimum location and site layout with an infrastructure capacity analysis and all programmatic costs associated with the stationing action. Simmons Army Airfield, Mackall Army Airfield and Pope Army Airfield will be evaluated for air space requirements, Air Installation Compatibility Use Zones (AICUZ), Accident Potential Zones (APZ), open space to accomodate new construction and existing infrastructure to include facilities, runways and taxiways.  Analysis will also include assessment of environmental conditions, land use compatibility, functional adjacency comparison, traffic conflicts, airfield surfaces and obstructions, projected noise contours for the new mission, anti-terrorism force protection (ATFP) compliance, satellite look angles, special take-off and recovery requirements, and secondary cross-wind recovery options and implications.
