AREA DEVELOPMENT PLAN, HQ AFRC CAMPUS, ROBINS AFB
Rexroad APG created an Area Development Plan for a new administrative campus for the Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command (HQ AFRC) at Robins Air Force Base. This plan represents a concept design for the construction of a new campus of facilities that will effectively consolidate all of the functions of this major command together. The Beaux Arts roadway configuration and formal quadrangle facility placement provide both a high visual standard and purposeful reuse of existing features for this important MAJCOM campus. The plan configuration intelligently makes roadway and pedestrian connections on multiple axes vastly improving the connectivity of this area of the installation. The project site is a demolished family housing area maximizing redevelopment opportunities and preservation of open space. Existing utility mains were worked into the scheme so as to maintain service to other areas and minimizing service runs for this development.
