RESTRICTED AREA DEVELOPMENT PLAN, SCHRIEVER AFB
The Restricted Area Development Plan (RADP) created by Rexroad APG for Schriever Air Force Base (AFB) represents the highest quality of design and planning while addressing complex technical requirements. The plan maximizes opportunities created by limited vehicular circulation and open space. Following this long range plan for in-fill development, existing and future facilities will develop into a compact campus that promotes pedestrian circulation through glass-enclosed sky bridges. As an added benefit these connecting passages will provide access to natural light and communal break areas between multiple windowless facilities. Quality of Life (QOL) will also be improved through short range plans to create a pedestrian mall in middle of the campus connecting bus shuttle stops at either end that transport personnel out of the RA to privately owned vehicle (POV) parking lots. The view corridor through the pedestrian mall to the west will frame Pikes Peak enhancing a "sense of place" for this prominent Air Force installation.
